Festival Project


NOTE: Teacher teams interested in applying for a Festival Project

should first contact Partnerships Manager Theresa Murray-Clasen, after which a project application will be provided. 

Who Can Apply?

  • Teams of three or more teachers or staff in grades 7-12. Teams may include teachers, councilors, flexible pathways coordinators, other staff or administrators, 

  • Teams must include an art specialist.


  • $2,650 for 4 graduate credits, or $2,100 for non-credit certificate of participation (56 contact hours). 

  • $3,300 for 5 graduate credits for the art specialist(s) on the team, or $2,600 for non-credit certificate of participation (70 contact hours).

Your Responsibilities

  • Attend the Institute: 9am-4pm on June 24-29 in Montpelier and November 21-22 at the Woodstock Inn.

  • The school art specialist(s) on the team will also attend full-day workshops on September 14 and October 13.

  • Host a 10-day teaching artist residency (underwritten by the CEL).

  • Provide any materials needed for your project. 

  • Present a local public culminating event to celebrate  your student and community partners' creativity. 

  • Present your project at the Vermont Festival of Arts & Imagination in Montpelier in the summer of 2020.
