Making Things We Care About
 
Building a Culture of Creative & Deeper Learning

This course will strengthen your skills at designing lessons that use creative engagement – making things we care about.

​

Through hands-on workshops with master teaching artists, and learning with and from colleagues, you will build a collection of lesson and project plans that integrate into your curriculum to: 
​

  • Inspire deeper learning.

  • Energize your teaching practice.

  • Regulate student behavior.

  • Build a classroom culture of creativity and collaboration.​

  • ​HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS with master teaching artists to build your tool-kit of everyday creative engagement skills that can be used in any content area.​
     

  • DESIGN project ideas for implementing in your classroom that place creativity at the center of learning.
     

  • EXPLORE ways to take learning out of the school and into collaboration with your community.
     

  • LEARN with and from colleagues in a supportive cohort that meets in-person and on-line.
     

  • PERSONALIZE your learning with one-on-one coachings.
     

  • ENERGIZE your teaching practice and have funguaranteed!

The Details
Spring 2026 Project Design Lab

Schedule

​​​February-April

  • 3 days in-person

  • One Friday each month / 9 am - 4 pm 

  • Virtual session(s) to be determined by your cohort / 3:30 to 4:45 pm

In-Person Locations & Dates

Choose your location and dates.

Locations/dates are not interchangeable.

  • Northern Region

In-person sessions at the York Street Meeting House, Lyndon Center

Fridays: FEB 13 / MAR 14 / APR 10

  • Southern Region

In-person sessions at the Southern Vermont Arts Center, Bennington, and River Gallery Arts, Brattleboro

Fridays: 
​

Graduate Credits or Relicensing Credits

Choose 2 or 3 graduate creditsor30 or 45 hours of relicensing credits.

OPTION 1
3 graduate credits or 45 hours relicensing credits

  • 3 days in-person / 9 am to 4 pm 

  • 4 virtual sessions / 3:30 to 4:45 pm / Dates to be determined by each cohort

  • Homework between sessions

OPTION 2
2 graduate credits or 30 hours relicensing credits

3 days in-person / 9 am to 4 pm

  • 1 virtual session / 3:30 to 4:45 pm / Date to be determined by each cohort

  • Homework between sessions

Tuition

Lunch and snacks provide for in-person days.

  • OPTION 1 - $1,950 - 3 graduate credits or 45 hours relicensing credits
     

  • OPTOIN 2 - $1,750 - 2 graduate credits or 30 hours relicensing credits.

Attend Solo or as a Team

You can attend solo or with a team from your schoolTeams can be composed of any combination of educators (classroom teachers, councilors, paras, special educators, staff, administrators) and can be from the same grades and content areas, or mixed.
